MachineRoom

How it's made

Machine Room videos are made by one person with a lot of software. This page says which parts are which, because the audience has a right to know and almost nobody in this lane says it.

Who decides what the video says

The person. Every script is written and locked by the channel owner, a working software engineer, chapter by chapter, before anything is rendered. The argument of a video, which mechanism matters and which number is wrong, is human judgment. That is the part that cannot be automated and the only reason the channel exists.

Where the facts come from

Each video starts as a fact table built from primary documents: the RFC, the vendor's own engineering post, the paper, the model card, the source code. Every figure and quotation in the narration traces to one of them, and the sources are listed on each video's page and in its YouTube description. When a source is a company's own claim about itself, the video says so.

What a measured test means here

When a video says it measured something, the same task was run under the same conditions, the inputs are named, the numbers in the description are the numbers that came out, and the date and model version are stated. Tools change. A measured test is true for the date on it, not forever. Nobody has paid for a test result and nobody will. If a video is ever sponsored, the sponsorship will be a disclosed slot, never the verdict.

The voice is synthetic

The narration is a text-to-speech voice reading the owner's script. It is not a recording of a person. The words are human. The sound is not. Every YouTube upload carries the platform's altered-or-synthetic-content disclosure for this reason.

The pictures are code

The visuals are motion graphics rendered from code in a browser: diagrams, counters, animated systems, a mascot. There is no stock footage and no AI-generated imagery. The animation code is written with Claude, Anthropic's AI models, from scene descriptions the owner writes, and then checked by eye against the narration before it ships. AI is a production tool here, the way a renderer or an editor is.

What this site does with you

If you give your email, it goes into a database this site owns and nothing else. There is no analytics vendor, no tracking cookie and no pixel. The site counts which video sent a visit, nothing about who you are. The YouTube player on each page loads only after you press play.

Ask

If anything on a video is wrong, say so in the comments on YouTube. Corrections get pinned.
